Universities and Think Tanks

Arena 4.1 · weight 3 · reading 15.7 · opposed majority

16.1Scope

Who produces ideas and trains the elite.1

The arena is measured by think tanks by citation reach, vice-chancellors of 147 universities, academics’ open letters, research-council leadership, council grants, publishers, and foreign chairs and programmes.

Principal evidence: Think tanks and social-science institutes (28 Left, 13 Right) by court citations, Wikipedia links and news mentions (M7).

16.2Significance

Textbooks, court briefs, policy papers, foreign-media sources, the worldview of future officers.

16.3Indicators and weights

Table 16.1 lists the 7 indicators of the arena, the weight of each within the arena, and each indicator’s reading (the Hindutva-aligned share, from 0 to 100).
